Halo 3 Recon is 'open-world' game
City and characters open to explore
According to CVG, citing the latest issue of Game Informer magazine, Halo 3: Recon will be a shooter set in an 'open-world', with the plot told via flash-backs.
A whole city will be open to explore in the new game, and players will get a PDA to enable them to set waypoints - a bit like the GPS system in Far Cry 2, perhaps.
In this open-world setting, combatants will be tasked with investigating the locations of their former team mates following catastrophe in the city. Enemies will be highlighted in neon, and as you unravel what happened you'll play as team mates, unraveling their stories.
Learning what happened to your team mates will also unturf what befell New Mombasa. More on this new Halo title soon.
